Chickens, unlike humans, do not have teeth. However, before a baby chicken hatches they have one special tooth (called an egg tooth). While growing in the egg, the baby chick will eat the yolk (the yellow part of the egg) to build up their strength. When it's time to hatch, they use their tooth to break free of their shell! Soon after hatching, the chicks will lose their egg tooth, but don't worry, they don't need teeth. Instead, they use their beak to peck at their food! This baby chick is 16" and can be purchased pre-stuffed for immediate play, or unstuffed for a fun craft experience! Please note this plush does have button eyes that may be a choking hazard for younger kids. We recommend this plush for ages 3 and up.
